You pick a category from the marketplace's own tree when creating the product.
Category-specific fields
The form changes with the category you pick, exposing the fields that category requires.
Brand
A brand is not mandatory.
Barcode (GTIN/EAN)
A barcode is mandatory; you cannot list without one here.
Image
At least one product image is mandatory.
Variants
Variants are not supported; each one is listed as a separate product.
Result
The result comes back straight away; the listing is created on submission.
Updating
A published listing can be updated afterwards.
Removing
Removing a listing is not supported here; it is done from the marketplace's own panel.

What you should know about the eBay integration

Which eBay site are you selling on? This field decides that

eBay is not one marketplace but a set of country sites: EBAY_US, EBAY_DE, EBAY_GB, EBAY_AU and others. During setup you pick the one you sell on, and that choice is attached to every request. Choose the wrong site and your orders simply do not appear — there is no error message, just an empty list. When you see an empty list, check this field first.

Two tokens, two different lifetimes

On eBay the refresh token is valid for roughly 18 months, while the access token expires every two hours and is renewed automatically. So after setup you need do nothing by hand for years. You normally leave the access token field empty — with a refresh token present the system produces it itself.

A separate warning about the test environment: eBay's sandbox credentials are entirely separate from production. Keys generated in the sandbox cannot connect to production, and vice versa. Mixing them up while testing is the classic cause of hours-long "the keys are right but it does not work" rounds.
